The Pat Ackerman Reading Program was established nearly 10 years ago in coorperation with the Thomas Beaver Library and the Danville School System.   The fund was created by the Ackerman family in honor of Pat Ackerman, who taught College Prep and Honors English courses at the Danville High School for over 20 years.  Aside from her teaching career, Pat was a devoted wife, mother of three sons, Ken, Chris and Peter who are Danville High School graduates and were scholar athletes in college.

Following her retirement, Pat gave much of her time and talent  to the Thomas Beaver Free Library as a volunteer, member and later, Chair of the Board of Directors.

The Ackerman's three sons joined their father in establishing this endowd fund in honor of Pat and her commitment to the Danville Area and lifelong love of teaching.
