Pay range: H6 point 14-19 £27,334- £29,777 FTE plus £988 fringe allowance
Actual Salary: £24,556.01 - £26,674.16 including fringe

We are seeking a Lead Science Technician to join our team at St Clement Danes School. The successful applicant will take on a wide range of tasks, such a preparing and maintaining equipment, constructing and modifying apparatus and setting up experiments.
Core Purpose
To assist the Head of Science Faculty and other Science Technicians in organising the support of science teaching within the school. A handover will be provided with our current Lead Science Technician who will be retiring.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Work alongside the Science Partnership, a science outreach organisation, to arrange and administer training for teaching staff across the region. This involves organising courses and facilitating the use of the science laboratory facilities
Line management of the technicians, to include performance reviews and training
Help with the provision of administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the curriculum
Help to manage faculty budget as well as managing and placing all orders for the department
Prepare and collect equipment/materials as requested by teaching staff to support student learning in school
Assist in the cleaning of equipment and care of plant specimens
Prepare chemical solutions for use in the classroom
Order materials for experiments, stationary and other items
Report items for repair to Head of Faculty organising repairs wherer requested
Assist in the organising and storing of equipment and chemicals in accordance with COSHH requirements
Attend relevant meetings and training courses as agreed with Head of Faculty
Act as Fire Warden as required, following procedures in the vent of fire or other cause of evacuation/lock down
Be part of a team of staff who can provide First Aid within Science (training will be provided)
Maintain an equipment list and chemical inventory, as well as conducting an annual stock check
Assist Head of Faculty in ensuring health and safety guidance is adhered to
Optional: periodically offer technical support in the classroom when appropriate
