Qualifications 

Essential

• Higher Level Teaching qualification (HLTA)

• GCSE Mathematics and English grade C or above

• NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

• Completed specialist training courses in any of the following: ASD and ADHD, Speech and language, and behaviour

Desirable 

• Training in low level counselling or emotional support

• Herts Therapeutic Thinking training

• Experience in running nurture groups

• First aid training /training as appropriate

Skills and Attributes

Essential 

• Strong communication skills, both written and oral

• Organisational skills

• ICT skills as applicable to role

• Effective time management

• Ability to develop positive relationships with staff, students, parents and the wider community

• Reflective practitioner
