The last newsletter of 2025!
Here we are at the end of 2025! The autumn term is done, and what a great one it's been. The chidren have delighted us, amazed us, made us think, made us laugh, and done themselves proud with their learning.
Reception and year 1 have both brought so much joy with their Christmas shows. You just can't beat watching these young children singing at the top of their voices, seeing their faces light up when they see someone they love in the audience, and the excitement when they hear all the applause. It's just magical. As always, a huge thank you to the staff team who go through the annual ritual of thinking it will never all come together, and then seeing it all work.
Years 3 and 4 had trips to Christ Church in Ware to learn about the Christmas story. They had great fun and it was lovely for them to learn in such a beautiful setting.
Mrs Grayson and I have been very busy showing round parents who are choosing primary schools for reception in September. Cranbourne children have impressed them every single time, whether that's with their calm but enthusiastic lessons, the learning ambassadors talking to them confidently, or the work on display around the school.
Thank you to those parents who responded to the TEP parent survey. We won't see the results until next term, but will be part of the discussions with TEP about whether the survey is asking the questions that really matter and can help move schools forward.
Following on from the welly swap, the Christmas jumper swap was very successful. After Christmas, hang on to any jumpers you know you won't want next year and we can start preparing for Christmas 2026 (I can't believe I'm saying that!!).
We've had a good term for attendance, until the last two weeks when it's fallen off a cliff! We know that this is a bad time across the country for flu and other winter viruses. We wish everyone a healthy break and hope we're all, staff and children, raring to go for a healthy January.
Term dates for next year are in the Upcoming Events section of this newsletter. We again have a long weekend in Nov/Dec 2026 - please use for this winter breaks.
FOCS have had a busy term. The discos were as popular as always. I love seeing all the outifts, especially the sequins!! Thank you to the team for arranging a visit from Father Christmas. We hope the children enjoy the books! They also arranged a panto for the children, which I'm sure you've heard all about (oh, yes you have!). Without our amazing FoCS team we couldn't do these things for the children. They are always looking for more help, so get in touch on their social media pages if you'd like to be involved, or let the office know and we can put you in touch.
The whole Cranbourne team wishes all our families a very Merry Christmas. Thank you for your support in 2025, and we'll see you on January 6th 2026!
