The end of the year has arrived!
Today we said goodbye to year 6 as they head off to their new schools. They put on a lovely leavers' assembly - not a dry eye in the house. We also waved off some staff members and wish them every happiness as they start their new adventures.
Next year, the current year 5 will begin thinking about the move to secondary, so we were really pleased that they were able to have a day at John Warner experiencing secondary life. Whatever school they go to, it's good experience to get a flavour of what it will be like, as it's a change that can seem daunting.
The year 6 production of The Wizard of Oz was simply magical, and Year 5's Oliver was stunning. We are so lucky to have children that can't wait to strut their stuff on the stage, and staff who have the vision to put on such high quality productions. Both these shows turned me into a blubbering wreck, and I wasn't alone!
We've had more trips out and about. Year 3 went on the train to London to the Hockney exhibition, and Year 1 have been to Shepreth Wildlife Park. They came back absolutely full of what an amazing time they'd had. Year 1 were very excited about having been on a coach, which has been the highlight of trips since time began!
The Danes Educational Trust INSET day on 7th July was a great opportunity for the team at Cranbourne to work with colleagues in other schools. We are all focused on just one thing - making sure the children in the Trust have the best possible educational experience.
Thank you to everyone who came along to Open Evening last Thursday. It's lovely to have the chance to chat to families informally and for the children to show you around a bit.
Thank you to those parents who have answered the questions on the links you have been sent. Your responses will help firm and shape some ideas we have for next year, and to make sure we keep you in touch with what's going on in school.
To the dismay of everyone who works in school, and a fair few children I'd imagine, the "Back to School" campaigns started in shops before we'd even broken up! I know that there'll be preparations in every household in the summer, so in the box below there are a few reminders to help you with buying things.
Have a wonderful summer, and we'll see you back for the autumn term on 4th September.
