Overview: Students can develop and organize a Science Fair that focuses on environmental issues and initiatives. Students can research topics and/or present their initiatives to other SEVENs in an effort to spread the word about the importance of preserving and protecting the environment. Students could also organize an initiative to place recycling bins in the classroom.
Students can research environmental/recycling topics to present in a Science Fair that other SEVENs can learn from. Students can create research environmental/recycling topics and create PSA announcements. Students can plan for an Earth Day event that celebrates our community and promotes recycling and our environment. Students can use and transform recyclable items into works of art to display in an Art Show at RPMS.

Overview: Students will research the impact of pollution on our local communities. Students can examine the amount of trash around our school and/or near the pond by our school to determine the potential impact on these areas. Students can present this project in a variety of ways.
Potential Events: A PSA campaign discussing the impact of pollution on our community, weekly/monthly school clean-up (invite other SEVENs to help with the project), fundraise to get outside trash bins for blacktop area and near garden, fundraise/design signs for the pond area noting the impact of pollution in that area.
Guest Speaker Opportunities: Local environmentalists, garbage/recycling centers
Overview: In this project, students will develop a recycling program and/or awareness initiative to inform our school and local communities. Students will learn about the impact recycling has on our environment and community.
Students can research recycling and then fundraise for recycling containers for the every classroom. Students can link up with a local grocery store to return the cans/bottles. Students can brainstorm how to use the money raised from recycling bottles and cans.
