This is my 13th year teaching at Ellsworth Avenue School. Before this, I taught third grade in Newtown for 3 years, worked as a literacy tutor and ESL teacher in Washington Depot, CT, and served as a reading teacher and long term substitute teacher in Brookfield and Newtown. After 14 years of teaching third grade, I moved up to fourth grade last year to teach literacy (reading and writing).
I completed my Literacy Sixth Year Degree and Dyslexia Graduate Certificate at Sacred Heart University (in cooperation with the CoLAB at Southport School) in May 2025.
My husband and I have two dogs. We both love dogs and look forward to hikes with them on the weekends.
My favorite animals are beluga whales, wolves, and elephants. My favorite color is purple, and I love sunflowers. My favorite foods are pizza, mozzarella sticks, pasta, fruit, chocolate, and coffee. I love Starbucks.
One of my hobbies is dance. I started taking dance lessons when I was 2 - 1/2 years old. After teaching dance at Dance Dimensions in Brookfield for 25 years, I am now a substitute dance teacher, filling in as needed. I also enjoy making crafts, cooking, and baking.
