Research Help
Have a research assignment for class? Here are some quick tips to help you get started.
Step 1: What Do You Need to Get Started?
Write down at least 3 questions you that you hope to answer by doing research. This will help you stay focused and save time.
Step 2: Know Where to Look
The internet is great, but it doesn't always have the best information. The best place to get started is to try finding answers to your questions in a Subject Database. Experts on a wide array of subjects have already found the best sites out there. Trouble is, there isn't information on all topics. Try Internet Public Library
Step 3: Try Searching the Internet
Look for websites that end in .gov or .edu
Who created the website? Look for the "About Us" link
When was the website published?
Compare the facts with other websites and/or books from the media center. Never trust just one site.
