The goal of our project management services is to raise the quality of new construction, upgrades, and repairs, while lightening the mental load placed on our clients in the process. One of the best ways to increase productivity is to have a manager dedicated to overseeing the entire project. Organizing contractors and subcontractors is vital, and without a person on site dedicated to planning and foresight, boat owners risk work being done twice, or not at all, and their wishes getting lost in imperfect communication between different parties. A project manager is an authority figure who always keeps the bigger picture in mind, and can make sure that our clients' visions remain intact, while seamlessly integrating the old into the new. 

Cohesive forethought about the way the many intricate systems on a modern yacht all work together is vital for efficient project management. Understanding what the upholster needs from the electrician and how that will affect the audio video system becomes important when putting together a yacht's completely new interior. At Damsel Marine we have thousands of hours of hands-on experience in all types of onboard systems, constructions and finishes. We've been fortunate enough to work on many historical yacht brands, including Burger, Riva, Abeking Rasmusen, Tartan and Deerfoot.

Having spent years at sea, we know the importance of details in a larger project. The best possible outcome for you and your yacht is always our goal. In a project management position, we will work to maintain your vision, while keeping your yacht both functional and seaworthy. Damsel Marine believes upgrades and modifications should be "as built." We work to ensure that any additions to your yacht conform to, and integrate with, the original construction quality, methods, and design as closely as possible.  

Often in yachting you just want someone to tell it to you straight. We all benefit from knowing more about our boats! You may be looking for a professional opinion of a new purchase, or a review of the general state of a project or repair. Sometimes written reports from surveyors or mechanics need to be put into real terms that a yacht owner can use to make informed decisions about their watercraft.  Our continuous experience with all types of equipment and different brands of boats, from Albury to Hinckley to Hakvoort, makes us an invaluable resource, and we want to share that experience with you.

And then there's continuing education! We find that quality hands-on operation and discussion of your yacht’s handling characteristics, including your specific boat's strengths and weaknesses, greatly improves a captain's confidence and enjoyment on the water.  Damsel Marine Services is available to address your specific concerns such as docking, anchoring, line handling, electrical hookups, navigation and maintenance. Also, in partnership with Sail Solomons a leading ASA School and NauticED, Damsel Marine is thrilled to provide hands-on personal training in all areas of nautical navigation. That means seamanship, onboard systems, ASA classes 101, 103, 104/IPC, 114,  and NauticED courses for small and large keel boats and catamarans, as well as the SLC.

Damsel Marine Services can provide assistance with learning and understanding a boat’s systems, and we would love to be your go-to for troubleshooting and coordinating any repairs and upgrades you may desire, tailored specifically to your needs!  

DAMSEL Marine offers regular weekly, biweekly, monthly vessel inspections and regular maintenance customized to any boatowner's needs. We can adjust our schedules around your time in and out of town and make sure that our availability works for you.

Experienced yachtsmen know that the worst thing for marine systems is to let them sit idle.  Our inspections make sure that equipment is checked and exercised.  A maintenance plan makes sure that service intervals are not missed.  Regular inspections and operation help to detect problems before they become serious.
