Awesome Project
7th grade students focused on honing their inquiry abilities throughout the first quarter in SDL, through "The Awesome Project": a project that gave students a chance to inquire into a topic of their choosing. Students learned how to use the QFT (Question Formulation Technique) to create meaningful driving questions, and learned how to make effective surveys and analyse data in order to help answer their driving questions. Students also completed online research as part of this step. Lastly students created their choice of podcast, vlog, psa, or infographic to present their inquiry and information to the school community. See the student gallery below.

Sustainability Trade Show

MVI_1116.MP4For their final project in SDL, students were tasked with building and establishing an organization or company that sought to resolve (or work towards resolving) a sustainability issue in our world. Students used the Design Thinking framework to develop their sustainable solutions and ultimately presented their organization and prototypes to the CDS community at our Sustainability Trade Show.
