Our school is hosting an optional Oratory Contest for students in grades 3 - 5. Students will choose and perform a short speech, poem, or monologue.
This event honors the tradition of oral storytelling and powerful speech, helping students build confidence while learning how words have been used to inspire and plant seeds of change.
How it works:
Students choose a short excerpt to perform (45–90 seconds and school appropriate)
Students perform first in their classroom
One class winner advances to a grade-level competition
Grade-level winners perform on school announcements
This is a positive, supportive way for students to practice public speaking and share meaningful words.
Students should have their pieces ready to perform by February 18th!
