Dear Rangel Parents and Families,
The safety of our students during arrival and dismissal is one of our highest priorities. We are asking for your immediate cooperation with an important dismissal safety concern regarding vehicles stopping and parking directly in front of the school on Robert B. Cullum Boulevard.
Please do not park or stop in front of the school to wait for your daughter during dismissal. Robert B. Cullum is an extremely busy street, and vehicles waiting in front of the school create a serious safety hazard for our students, families, and other drivers.
We have had several concerning instances in which students have attempted to cross in front of or between vehicles to reach a waiting car and have nearly been struck. Additionally, vehicles stopped in front of the school can prevent other cars from safely entering our driveway and using our designated dismissal route.
Cars in front of the school must remain moving. All families picking up by car should use our designated car pickup route, which runs through the teacher parking lot. Keeping the street in front of the school clear allows vehicles to enter the driveway safely and helps us maintain an orderly dismissal process.
If you prefer to park and wait for your daughter rather than use the car pickup line, we kindly ask that you park across the street on Pennsylvania Avenue near the gas station or on Robert B. Cullum south of Pennsylvania Avenue. Please remind your daughter to use appropriate and safe crossing areas and to remain alert to traffic.
We understand that dismissal can be busy, and we sincerely appreciate your patience, cooperation, and grace as our staff works to keep traffic moving. If a staff member asks you to continue driving rather than stopping in front of the school, please understand that the request is being made for the safety of all of our girls.
A few extra minutes of patience can make a tremendous difference in keeping everyone safe. Thank you for partnering with us and for helping ensure that every student gets home safely.
