Social Studies

History

Through the study of History, from the Roman Empire to the Renaissance, students learn both important content, and practice learning processes that will help them become independent, life-long learners. Particular to the study of history are the processes of finding and reviewing sources, seeking corroboration, exploring causality, thinking contextually, and evaluating opinions. During Social Studies classes students will have the opportunity to be involved in role-plays, interrogate primary sources, construct timelines, build models, form and express opinions, and apply research skills.
