A full supply list is available here. Generally, students need notebooks, pencils, folders, headphones, and a charged iPad daily.
Homework may include reading, math practice, worksheets, and occasional projects. The amount of time it takes will vary by student, but it should generally not exceed 30–45 minutes per night. This does not include time spent studying for tests or quizzes.
Let your teacher know at the beginning of the day, during attendance, or weekly reports. Fill out a Late Work form, and make sure to turn in the assignment the following day. Please note that each late homework assignment will result in a $20 fine in our classroom banking system.
Water bottles are encouraged and should be brought daily. However, there is no snack time in 5th grade, so please be sure to eat a hearty breakfast and lunch.
Grading is based on classwork, homework, projects, participation, and assessments. I’ll share rubrics and expectations clearly. 5th grade students will continue to be graded using the traditional letter grading system A, B, C, D, F on a 90% , 80%, 70%, 60%, etc... For full details on traditional letter grades, check system, and sale grades, please refer to the Classroom Policies and Procedures document available on the Documents page of this website.
Graded work is usually returned within a week. Some assignments or projects may take longer depending on the length or type. You can check PowerSchool regularly for updates on your grades.
Yes! Students may have the opportunity to correct or redo assignments or retake tests to improve their understanding. You’ll need to complete a Retake Request Form and may be asked to do corrections or additional practice first.

If you're absent, start by checking the Assignments Page and your Google Classroom for each subject to see what you missed. When you return to school, check your assigned pocket on the Absent Chart in the classroom for an absent form of missed assignments and any handouts. Be sure to check in with your teachers to clarify anything and stay on track.
