Friday Games start at 7:00 p.m.

The band will need to report at 6:30 p.m. (ready to play) on the evening of home games.  For those that choose to eat, we will have food at 6 p.m.

We will use the band uniforms for home football games when weather permits - black socks and all black shoes are required. If the weather looks unfavorable, we may use band T-Shirts.

The students perform at pregame from 6:45 - 7:00 p.m. They are then released until some time in the second quarter when we prepare for half time. After the band performs at halftime - the students have fulfilled their duties as band members for the evening.

Concerts:

• High School Christmas Concert: Dec. 4, 7:00 p.m.

• IHSA Solo & Ensemble: March 2 (voluntary)

• Jazz Coffeehouse: March 4, 6:30 p.m.

• MS & HS Spring Concert: May 6, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. 

• Graduation Date: Possibly May 19, 2:30 p.m.

There may be other dates announced in the future.

Students will generally be asked to be available from 1/2 hour before a concert to after the concert ends.

Students will be asked to wear black and white dress clothes as well as nice shoes (please no sneakers or jeans).

All students are expected to attend the concerts. Please contact me ASAP if there may be a conflict.

Unless otherwise noted, the band will need to report to the north gym stage by 6:30 p.m.

Students are asked to wear maroon and white. When the varsity games starts - students are dismissed.

What is the Jazz Coffee House? 

The Jazz Coffee House is tentatively schedule for March 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cafetorium! This of course may change based on current conditions.  The Middle School and High School jazz bands will be performing that evening. 

The format is coffee house, so there are deserts served, tables decorated, coffee/tea/hot chocolate/lemonade. 

Tickets usually go on sale the third week of February.  All performers are free, and everyone else needs a ticket to attend (table decorators get a free ticket). 

The evening usually goes as follows: 

• 3-5:00 parents are asked to drop off a dessert to be served 

• 3-5:00 parents that volunteer to decorate a table can come in and do just that 

• 5-6:00 jazz band students come in for sound/lighting check (exact times will be provided the week of the event) 

• 6:15 Doors open. Those parents that decorated a table will have their seats reserved. All other admission is general. 

• 6:30 Evening begins with a welcome and encouragement to get some coffee, tea, etc... before the MS jazz band plays

• 6:40 MS jazz band will perform their tunes 

• ~7:00 The MS jazz band students will bring desserts around to the tables while the high school jazz band gets set up 

• 7:15 HS jazz band plays 

• 7:30ish Awards for best table decorations are given 

• ~7:45-8:00 The performance ends. All involved are asked to help set the room up for the next day.
