2nd Grade CogAT Scores: will be emailed home by the end of March
Some 2nd grade families will be asked to bring their child in for a WISC follow up test (to the CogAT). This is done for students as "another look" to get more data to help in the evaluation process. Specifically-only two groups of students might qualify :
CogAT > 120 and MAP > 80% (national percentile)
OR
CogAT<120 but MAP > 95% (national percentile)
Final C of C Reports (with placement for next year) will go out at the end of the school year.

District 64 Channels of Challenge Mission Statement
The mission of the District 64 Gifted Program is to challenge students with high cognitive abilities to reach their fullest potential, while addressing their social and emotional needs.
Program Philosophy
District 64 believes students identified as academically and/or intellectually gifted have unique instructional needs. The curricular instruction should be matched to the students by adapting the pace, depth, and complexity of study, enabling gifted students to develop and become motivated, self-directed learners. In addition to the instructional aspect of the Channels of Challenge Program, attention should be given to social and emotional development to promote a growth mindset.
District 64 Motto
Together we discover, learn, grow & care.
