October 6, 2026 Update
This committee kicked off on Tuesday, September 22nd! Staff dove into research to learn the definition of Durable Skills and why they are so important for students. In order to create our own District 64 Portrait of a Learner framework for District 64, our committee also reviewed sample rubrics and discussed our envisions for this work. Here is the full Portrait of a Learner Presentation.

This committee met on Tuesday, September 15th and dove back into our CHAMPS work by reviewing our district survey data from Institute Day. This data has allowed us to better understand where we need to focus our work and provide professional development. Our committee also collaborated around the district and building goal of 100% implementation of the STOIC and CHAMPS framework. Here is the full CHAMPS Presentation.

October 6, 2026 Update
This committee met on September 17th with approximately 50 staff members from all 8 buildings (principals, psychologists, interventionists, and classroom teachers). The committee is focused on the strategic priority of “using data to find and help students who need support,” with the goal of increasing the percentage of students who meet their growth targets. The committee provided feedback on the MTSS process, the upcoming MTSS Wednesday Learning Module, and the rubric that will be used to evaluate the success of our MTSS implementation. Here is the full MTSS A presentation.
October 6, 2026 Update
The committee met on August 11 and October 5 with District Office Administrators and Building Principals to streamline administrative communications to staff. The team developed these Admin-to-Staff Communication Guidelines to protect staff time, build trust, and align with our Strategic Plan. To reduce email clutter and save staff time, we are creating a single, predictable system that allows you to engage with essential updates without constant interruption.
At your Wednesday building meetings on October 7, your principals will provide a communications survey for staff to complete so we have a baseline for district-wide communications. Our goal is to have 80% of staff complete the survey so we can consider possible changes at the district and building levels.
We will administer this brief survey again in November to evaluate whether any updated communication methods have benefited you as staff. Following that check-in, this four-question feedback tool will transition to an annual schedule.
