Crisis Plan and Threat Assessment Manual (26-27)

Staff need to be aware of safety procedures and first-aid procedures. Learning the details of these procedures ahead of time can save much confusion and possibly a life. The “I Love You Guys” Foundation established a series of emergency response plans for staff and students to follow.

An announcement will be made to alert students and staff of an emergency. A follow up announcement will also be made to signal the completion of a drill or event. The chain of command at the school will be the principal and the assistant principal.

In the event of a school emergency, the school will respond with one of 5 actions:

HOLD: Remain in your classroom or area; clear the halls.

SECURE: Get inside the building; lock outside doors.

LOCKDOWN: Remain in the room. Locks, Lights, Out of Sight.

EVACUATE: Locate the evacuation map near the door and proceed to the line up area outside.

SHELTER: Use the appropriate strategy for the hazard.
