LRC NOTICES via EMAIL
Periodically parents will receive an LRC update of overdue books your child has checked out from the LRC.
If the book is a class novel, it is due within 1 week of class completion.
No daily fines are assessed. However, if a student loses or damages a book, he or she is responsible for its replacement.
Lincoln students are allowed to have 1 class novel and 2 regular-circulation books checked out at a time.
LRC notices are meant to keep students, parents and/or guardians informed. If you have a question about items on an LRC notice, it’s best to have a conversation with your child first. Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. mwalsh@d57.org
Lincoln’s LRC Collection
Students check out titles for classroom novel studies, book projects, research papers, and recreational reading. Classroom novels are chosen by teacher committees. However, Lincoln’s LRC collection is carefully cultivated and researched by the LRC Director, in collaboration with classroom teachers, professional colleagues, and students’ recommendations.
Selected titles are chosen based on literary-merit, correlation with Common Core Curriculum, award-winners, multicultural perspectives, and student interests.
YA Novels: Please notify Lincoln's LRC Director, Mrs.Walsh, if you don't want your student to read YA novels. This will be noted in your child's record prior to checkout.
Parental Guidance: As your child’s parent and/or guardian, your guidance is valuable. Please use the list of recommended resources to help guide and inform book selections.
