Hello everyone! I am a teacher at Lions Park Elementary School. This is my 8th year teaching, but my first year teaching 3rd Grade! I couldn't be more excited to kick off another GREAT year with my new students!
I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, I moved to Geneseo, IL where I taught 5th grade for 2 years. I relocated back to the Northwest suburbs to be closer to family & friends and have LOVED teaching in Mount Prospect! I recently completed my Masters degree in Educational Technology at Concordia University. I enjoy getting to introduce new ideas in the classroom to make our learning experiences memorable & exciting!
I LOVE getting to travel & explore new places! Over our last Spring Break, my husband & I were able to travel to Prague & Budapest. We visited Prague Castle, attended Easter festivals, & learned a lot about Bohemian Royalty. In Budapest, we continued enjoying the many Easter festivals & learning about the Austrian/Hungarian Empire. Over the Summer, we had a family reunion trip just outside of Clearwater, FL. Traveling has become a passion of mine because it provides me an opportunity to learn more about new cultures & the all of the new sights are remarkable! One of my favorite places to visit has been France!
I now have 3 dogs that I've adopted, Miley (6), Ivy (3), Winston (5 months). Both girls are Black Lab Mixes & our newest addition is a Yellow Lab Mix--all keep me plenty occupied while at home. Other things that I enjoy doing in my free time includes spending time with my family & friends, attending sports events, practicing modern calligraphy, reading, & recently, crocheting. Each year I try to challenge myself to learn something new or try a new hobby!
