The Sweet Sounds of Spring Break
BY LEIA ROBINSON AND ABBEY BUSCHHORN
Spring Break couldn’t have come sooner for East students and teachers. The stress of the school closure combined with the changing of the weather. It was time. So what did everyone do?! The Shallot did a little investigating.
Now that we are back from spring break students have noted that there has been a little team of designers and stylists following Ms. McGaffey around school. We found out that over spring break Mrs. McGaffey went to a karaoke club (no surprise there). At the club a record producer saw her amazing talent and she was offered a record deal. Of course she accepted. Now her team follows her everywhere. We expect a reality show to be released in the next few months.
But it's not just McGaffey that is part of the record, Mr. Jackson joined in the fun too! Mr Jackson was scouted while he was playing the blues on the back of his sad gray-blue truck. His inspiration for the blues was the gloomy weather and the fact that his poor, poor slinkies would never have a home where they were treated fairly.
Mr Stanfied went back to Italy to visit his mafia friends. Sadly he was kicked out for refuting one of the orders. When Stanfield was asked to wear 15 ties he refused saying he was over that stage of his life and was promptly kicked out. (The mafia people were offended and ran after him throwing ninja stars). He was lucky to come home with his life. The mafia is famous for having suspicious run-ins with past members.
Mrs Williams had a less eventful break. She discovered her calling to the flute. Some nights there would be complaints about the constant play of “We Will Rock You” and “Another one bites the dust”. One day after school one of our own students Trixabell heard a faint noise from her room. When Trixabell looked into the room she saw Mrs Williams rocking out on her flute. Anyway at the end of the day they are still our teachers and you should definitely tell them about this article.
The weekend after publishing their first song as an NSync cover band, Mrs McGaffey, Mr Jackson, and Mrs Williams had a concert. All of the seats were filled. Tickets were sold out. Some people said that there were more people there than aTaylor Swift concert. It probably just felt that way since they were playing in the Science storage closet in Ms. Rath’s room. The teacher band soon retired to go back to the quiet, humble life of East Middle School, for now.
