It’s a well-known fact that all teachers at East Middle School are close friends, whether it comes to sharing coffee or secret meetings in the 7th-grade bathroom. Recently, Mr. Stanfield and Mr. Moreno were reported to have met with each other in the 7th-grade boys' bathroom. What goes on in these meetings is unknown, as the two teachers won’t allow anyone else inside the bathrooms.
Local EMS students have reported to the Shallot of these meetings beginning and taking place, some even hearing their conversations. A young 7th-grade girl came rushing to the Shallot with an intriguing story of what happens during these top-secret meetings.
“I was trying to finish my essay with some of my friends in Mr. Stanfield’s classroom, who had left earlier to go to the bathroom. Mr. Moreno then walked into his classroom, asking if we knew where he was. I told him that I thought he went to the bathroom. He then rushed to the bathroom with a look of determination. I was very confused that day,” she then continued, “not only was I curious of why he rushed in such a hurry to see Mr. Stanfield but as to why he wouldn’t wait till Mr. Stanfield was out of the bathroom. It wasn’t my intention to eavesdrop on the two teachers…”. A look of uncertainty from the Shallot led the girl to tell the truth. “I mean it was but no one has to know that. Anyway, what was weird is that their “meeting” was about Mountain Air Roasters Coffee! They were arguing whether Wrigley’s Spearmint gum or Bubble Yum would be better in the cafe’s coffee! Obviously I agree with Mr. Stanfield, Bubble Yum should be served in coffee at every coffee shop!”
This argument led the two teachers to take drastic steps. Each sabotaged the other when teaching or added spearmint gum/Bubble Yum in the other's coffee. Mr. Moreno has even turned students away so he could email Mountain Air Roasters to serve spearmint gum in their coffee, not Bubble Yum. While Mr. Stanfield argues that Bubble Yum would taste better in their coffee as ‘yum’ is in it’s name.
This feud lasted for days, weeks, even months. Until it was earlier reported this morning that Mountain Air Roasters had begun serving spearmint gum in their coffee, while Starbucks served Bubble Yum in theirs. Students said they could see the betrayal Mr. Stanfield felt from Mountain Air Roasters. Creating an even larger feud between the two teachers. This ongoing quarrel began to divide students all over D51, some taking Mr. Morneo’s side while others took Mr. Stanfields side.
Customers at Mountain Air Roasters begin choking on the gum in their coffees, leading to the shut down of the cafe. A direct quote from Mountain Air Roasters says, “We didn’t mean any harm to our beloved customers, but we suppose gum chews you.”
