The student population here at East have started to take notice of the tragic news of the school closing. While they grapple with this new information, staff and students have allegedly reported that the board officials have in fact, “thrown a temper tantrum.” An inquiry from the recent board meeting has given an insight into the outcome of our school closing.
According to Mr. President Board Meeting Guy, “The closure of East Middle School will serve not only as a catalyst for change but we can open a bigger, better daycare.” This was followed with every other board member giving a standing applause to this simple sentence, the teachers and parents were flabbergasted. As the conference led into the night, officials and teachers alike were found on the floor crying, smacking the ground much like a child, or maybe they were children?
Many students have taken to coping mechanisms. In response to the board, Justin Bieber's “Baby” has been playing on repeat over the PA speakers. Students have even started getting Beibers iconic swoop haircut from his 2010 era. Mr. Thomas has joined in on this new trend.
With the news of the incoming daycare, a major change has been instituted into our bedridden school. Mr. Thomas has placed paper signs covering every East Logo with ‘Bookcliff.’ He has even put into place a policy requiring students to call our school “Orchard Mesa Middle School.’ Why? Some students believe that Mr. Thomas is in denial, grieving this shocking news. More than Mr. Thomas have had a negative reaction to the school's imminent demise. Mr. Roenicke simply responded, "I haven't had enough coffee for this."
