After “accidentally” stumbling upon the Wikipedia page for ancient instruments, Mr. Siefken spent the entire science budget on a Didgeridoo, which he claimed was “totally worth it.” The Shallot interviewed Siefken after the Didgeridoo was spotted lying about his classroom, and he did not deny any of our allegations. Siefken asked exitedly, “Did you know that the Didgeridoo is the oldest instrument ever?” “They produce a low-pitch, resonant sound with complex rhythmic patterns.” Our Shallotiers were confused by his spouting of facts, and abandoned the interview after Siefken said, “If the earth had a voice it would be the sound of the Didgeridoo.” He then coerced our reporters with a completely serious face to listen to the instrument. “Listen! No stop, it sounds like Earth! No, come back!” After an awkward silence, he exclaimed: “The budget was about to expire, listen, it sounds super cool!” Seifken’s purchase of the Didgeridoo may reflect troubles at school. We urge all 7th graders to be courteous toward him, and struggle through his “beginner level” playing of his instrument.
