Families may rent school violins and violas from your school.
Intermediate students who are interested in advancing are encouraged to purchase their own shoulder rest and bow and instrument if possible.
All bass and cello students rent a D51 instrument that stays at school for class. Please keep in mind that instruments may need to be used by other students in the course of the day.
Students may check out a separate instrument to take home for better access to home practice. There is no extra charge for at home instruments. This means students do not have to coordinate bringing their home cello or bass to school everyday for class.
Students enrolled in a D51 band or orchestra class may rent an instrument for the year.
Families who rent a D51 instrument must complete, sign, and return a rental agreement which your director will provide you with.
Student and parent/ guardian have reviewed, signed, and returned the rental contract.
A minimum of $25 of the full $100 payment is paid and a payment plan in place for the remaining balance.
The standard District #51 instruments rental fee is $100.00 for the whole year, August to August.
Cellists and bassists may check out an at home instrument on a first come, first serve basis FREE of charge to support practicing at home.
Students who double may check out their secondary instrument for $50.00 for the year. An example would be a student who plays both bass and cello.
These instruments belong in student hands. We can always fit your budget.
Information about how to set up payments and financial assistance is available through Mrs. Leonardi.
All district 51 instruments have a six digit barcode sticker on it. This t-tag must stay attached to the instrument. If the tag comes off, students are responsible for the $10 replacement fee.
