In addition to the specific requirements incorporated in IKF-R, students must successfully complete a course on the civil government of the United States and the state of Colorado, a course that includes Genocide and Holocaust studies as a condition of high school graduation.

Mastery

Under Colorado's new graduation requirements, students will have to demonstrate competency (aka mastery) in both English and Math by scoring at or above the examination minimums set by the state from one of the following : ACT,, SAT,, Accuplacer,, Advanced Placement,, International Baccalaureate, ASVAB, or ACT WorkKeys. Mastery may also be demonstrated by the completion of a Capstone Project, earned Industry Certification, or successful completion of 100 level Concurrent Enrollment courses.  Additionally D49 students must demonstrate mastery in the other content areas.

*Please note that students who are planning on attending a 4-year college or university should strive to meet Higher Education Admissions Recommendations (HEAR). HEAR standards are more rigorous than High School graduation requirements and students should plan their courses accordingly. If you plan to attend a highly selective college, see your school counselor to look into admission requirements.
