My name is Mollie Garrett. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs. I have an incredible family, my husband, Jason, and stepson, Brandon. We love to hang out watch movies together, go hiking, snowboarding, and being outside. I have three kids of my own, dogs that is. Oppie, Chico, and Marley are my fur babies. I tell a lot of stories about them in class.
On the weekends during the winter, you will find me in the mountains snowboarding. Other hobbies of mine are playing/watching sports, spending time with my family, and being outdoors.
I absolutely love teaching 4th grade!! This will be my sixth year teaching at Odyssey Elementary School. Before coming to Odyssey, I worked as a para-professional working with an Autistic student in District 20. I got my Bachelors in Communications with a minor in Business Marketing from UCCS. I coached high school volleyball at Sand Creek High School after I graduated. I then went on to get my Masters of Education from Regis University. While at Regis University I also received a certification in Literacy Education as well as a certification in Autism.
My view on teaching is that "every student can learn, just not on the same day, or in the same way." I will do everything I can to make sure that my students will learn in my class, at their own pace, and in a way that works best for them.
