Traditional Concurrent Enrollment consists of students taking individual college courses through Pikes Peak State College that works towards their future certification, degree, or career path in general. Students start with ENG1021 Freshman Composition I. We rotate a vartiey of popluar college freshman level classes to help high school students start college in a comfortable location, at their own school taught by adjunct professors. Students are eligible starting Spring semester of their freshman year. Each student is advised on transferability, degree/certification applicability, and workload. If you are interested in applying please navigate to FHS steps to apply page.
In partnership with Pikes Peak State College (PPSC), FHS Juniors and Seniors are able to work towards their specific career goals through one of twelve different PPCC Career Start program options. Students need to be on track to graduate, with good attendance and behavior to be eligible to participate.
Students attend PPSC Monday-Friday and earn high school credit that works towards graduation requirements and their future degrees or certifications.
PPSC Career Start is free. Each program is a year-long commitment and most program options offer 2 years of programming.
