I began my teaching career in 1995 and spent 10 years as a classroom teacher in Barrington School District #220. After taking a bit of time off from teaching to raise my family, I pursued a position as a Reading Specialist. I continue to proudly serve as a Reading Specialist at Prairieview Elementary School as this marks my 20th year at Prairieview.
I married my high school sweetheart and we have 2 incredible boys that I am extremely proud of. In my spare time I enjoy exercising, baking, going to see live music, completing word searches and of course, spending time with my family and friends. We enjoy traveling and the great outdoors! You can often find my family involved in all sorts of sports no matter the weather...hiking, biking, skateboarding, longboarding, snowmobiling, snowboarding, skiing, you name it they do it. For me, if I'm not involved in the activity I am watching.

Long ago when I decided to become a teacher, I was driven by the desire of touching lives in a way that allowed me to help foster learning and personal growth. I continue to pursue my desire and craft as I teach children to strive to be their personal best. Reading is a fundamental skill needed for all things in life. Teaching children to read and gain a deep understanding of text is not only a passion of mine, but extremely rewarding. I value the opportunity to work with children and it is an honor to be a part of preparing them for future endeavors.
