Welcome to 7 Blue Social Science! My name is Kyle McLaren, and this is my 5th year here at GMS. I attended Knox College for my Bachelors degree in elementary education, and St. Xavier University for my Masters in Teaching and Leadership. This is my 21st year in education; along the way, I've had stops in 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I've also worked with high school special education.
My family lives in Round Lake. My wife Elizabeth works in health care. I have two stepdaugthers: Olivia is a junior at Valparaiso University, and Molly is a junior at Carmel Catholic High School. We have 3 dogs- Roger, Ellie, and Jovie- and 1 cat, Gunther. Outside of school I coach football (film) and varsity softball at Lakes High School. I love to travel, especially to California as well as my all-time favorite, Las Vegas. 😁

Yes, it's a lot of work this year. But we will have plenty of fun along the way! Please come to class daily with a fully charged Chromebook and ready to work hard. I'm looking forward to a great year with you all!
