Fall Play
Fall Play
The DMS Fall Play, Bedtime Stories, hit the Hampshire High School Stage on November 2nd and 3rd. The play chronicled an exhausted dad who just wants his kids to go to sleep. However, they demand he reads them three bedtime stories, one for each of them. They also demand that he tell them the stories from his memory, without using books, and that is when chaos ensues. The first story he tells them is about a Queen who is tired of her job, and wants to quit and move to Vegas. However, in order for her son to take the throne, he has to be married. The Queen decides to bring in suitors for her son, and that's when the humor begins. After that, the Dad tells them the story of The Boy Girl Who Cried Wolf Dinosaur. The twist on the story is that well, the shepherd shouts "Wolf" instead of "Dinosaur." Another twist though is that there actually is a dinosaur, though the people who respond to the girl's cries don't believe it. The dinosaur ends up stealing one of the sheep which prompted what ended up being the last of Mr. Bishop's Iconic Fall Play Dance Breaks. The Dance Break featured a medley of many beloved songs such as "Ice Ice Baby", "Anti-Hero", and "It's Going to be Alright", among others. The last story was Rumpelstiltskin, who saves the day by turning all the pesky gold into straw. After telling three stories the Dad FINALLY is able to put his kids to bed, though shortly afterwards, they have to call them back on, after one of them wets the bed. The Dad never comes back though, as the lights go dark, and the play ends.Â
