November 2026
6th Grade Math
We will be diving into Unit 3: Unit Rates and Percentages! Students will apply ratio reasoning from Unit 2 to unit rates and recognize that equivalent ratios have the same unit rates. Students will also use a variety of strategies and representations of percentages to determine missing percentages, parts, and wholes.
6th Grade Accelerated Math
We will be diving into Unit 3: Fractions and Decimals! Students will extend what they learned about dividing whole numbers to divide fractions by fractions. They answer questions like “How many groups?” or “How many in `1`group?” They use a variety of strategies, such as making tape diagrams, creating common denominators, and rewriting equivalent multiplication problems using the reciprocal. They will also develop and use a variety of strategies for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals.

7th Grade Math
In seventh-grade math, students are learning how to calculate percentages, find the percent of a number, and solve real-world problems involving discounts, taxes, and tips. They are also exploring how percentages connect to proportional relationships and help us make sense of everyday situations!
7th Grade Accelerated Math
In November, accelerated students will continue exploring equations and inequalities! Students will build their problem-solving skills by solving multi-step equations, writing and graphing inequalities, and applying these concepts to real-world situations.
8th Grade Honors Algebra 1
November 2026
In November, students will focus on linear equations. They will learn how to write equations in multiple forms, graph lines, determine relationships between lines (parallel/perpendicular), and apply their knowledge to solve word problems.
8th Grade Math Algebra 1A
September 2026
8th grade has just finished our first geometry unit! Students will now build on the geometry concepts they have learned as we move into dilations.
Dilations involve changing the size of a figure while maintaining its shape. Students will explore how scale factors affect figures and how dilations are used in the real world. Some real-world applications include photography and printing, maps and GPS, architecture and blueprints, movies and movie projectors, and scale drawings.
This unit will help students see how the geometry they are learning in the classroom connects to the world around them!
