Grade Level - Students will be working on understanding and applying the formulas for perimeter and area for the following shapes: square, rectangles, parallelograms, triangles, trapezoids. To demonstrate their learning, students will complete a project-based summative assessment. This project will allow them to apply their knowledge creatively and practically.
Accelerated Math - To finish the year, students will explore key concepts in data analysis, including: Data collection methods, Creating and interpreting data displays (such as line plots and histograms), Calculating and understanding measures of center: mean, median, mode, and range. This unit will help students develop critical thinking skills as they interpret and represent real-world data.
7th Grade Math
Seventh-grade math students will be finishing the surface area and volume unit, followed by a short but exciting unit on probability. Through activities and games, they will explore how likely or unlikely events are. From spinning spinners to rolling dice, students will use hands-on experiences to understand the math behind chance.
7th Grade Accelerated Math
Accelerated math students will be finishing out the year with an introduction to probability. Students will be learning how to predict outcomes and calculate simple probabilities using simulations and games.
8th Grade Algebra 1A
May 2025
We have just finished studying The Pythagorean Theorem in the real-world. Students found missing side lengths in a right triangle by using Pythagorean Theorem. To finish out the year, out next unit is Module 12 Properties of Exponents. These properties, also known as the laws of exponents, help in manipulating and simplifying expressions with powers, making calculations easier. The laws of exponents and used in the real world by many doctors and scientists. Please encourage your 8th grader to finish the year strong by bringing their calculator and pencils to class daily. Go Cardunals!
8th Grade Honors Algebra
We have just finished solving quadratics. The last retake opportunity is May 6th and then we will be reviewing for our final exam on May 14th and 15th. Please check with your child about how many pencils and pieces of paper they have :). We have been working very hard and are looking forward to completing a great year of Algebra!
6th Graders have been Eagle Watching: Duffey
During the past 3 weeks the 6th grades have been able to watch the progress of Jackie, Shadow and their chicks. We even related it to scale when we discovered how large an actual eagle's nest is.
