Senior, Austin Kulig, had been due for a breakout day in the High Jump. Thursday was the day. Austin cleared 6-1, 6-3, & 6-5 all on the first attempt! Austin now ranks #9 in 3A, and is only 1 cm off the school record. Congrats, Austin!

The D-Crew had a night! Starting off with a 15-second PR in the 4x8, running 8:24.56 to place 2nd. This is the fastest 4x8 team we've had in 7 years. And 0/4 had PRs! Next, Freshman Evan Misura exploded in the 800, with a three-second PR in the 800, running 2:08.86 (3A#31 among Freshman). In the 1600, Freshman Caden Wolfe PR'd running 4:42.81, which is only three seconds off the Freshman School Record. Teammate and D-Crew captain, Reese DeVriendt, also had a nice PR time of 4:45.70.

We were excited to go after the meet record of 42.32 in the 4x1. We were in position heading into the final exchange before disaster struck. Rey Alexander felt intense tightness in his hamstring as he was entering the zone, resulting in a failed exchange and a DQ. Jaden Michel, being the competitor he is, chose to finish the race hard anyway. Jaden then experienced hamstring pain. In the second race of the day, we were forced to scratch both Jaden & Rey from the 100 & 4x2. With team spirits down, the 4x2 had the tough task to compete without two of our top sprinters. Junior Julian Littleton & Sophomore Dionte Thigpen stepped up to the challenge. We placed 4th and ran a respectable time of 1:31.68.

Joey Burke and Dionte Thigpen both had 4 great jumps and PR'd. Joey jumped 6.38m and Dionte jumped 6.31m (only 3cm off the FS School Record!). Both jumpers have much more in the tank too! 👀

Mike Tarasiewicz and Tommy Barrett scored critical team points in the throws. Congrats to Tommy for his PR in the Shot Put- 14.24m!
