Our 4x1 time is FAST for early April. What's even more encouraging is that we ran it in lane 2 in a heat where we placed 6th! It's not easy running well in a bad lane while getting beat. This race was similar to a State Final heat. 42.81 is well under the State Qualifying Standard (42.99) and is close to the School Record (42.09).  Shoutout to junior Julian Littleton for leading off his first relay ever with a solid 11.5 split! Our 4x2 ran solid with a season PR. This group has way more in the tank.

Mike battled tough throwing conditions to place 7th out of 63 throwers in the Shot Put with a throw of 15.02m (49-3). Mike also had some great attempts in the discus but fouled out.

The senior sprinter exploded into the Outdoor Season. Rey had blazing splits in the 4x1 (10.3) and the 4x2 (21.1 👀), and came back to run a lifetime PR in the 200m (22.67). Big things ahead....

Good to have the two-time SWSC Red HJ Conference Champ back with us after a successful basketball season and rehabbing from an ankle injury suffered in the Regional Semi-Final game. Austin had three great attempts at 6-1, and placed 6th overall.  

The purpose of this trip is to learn how to travel, stay overnight, and compete the next day against elite competition. I'm proud of the way this team came together and how they COMPETED. We will travel down to the Metro East once more in two-weeks for the Edwardsville Winston Brown Invite and then to Charleston, IL in late May for the State Track Meet.
