The Sophomore anchor leg of the 4x2 received the baton down 15 meters to Plainfield South. Jaden ran down the PS runner, passing him just before the finish line (.03 difference!). Jaden's 22.8 split is absurdly fast for a Sophomore on a 178m track. He followed it up by running a 23.99 PR in the 200m to place 2nd. The sky is the limit for him.

In the 55m High Hurdles, Carter Bailitz had a hurdle from the lane next to him bounce into his lane causing Carter to take a nasty fall. I am still shocked Carter didn't get seriously injured. Carter was given the opportunity to re-run the race by himself due to the interference. Carter went and finished his final two triple jumps (39-8, 3rd), ran the hurdle race by himself (9.20, 6th), and ran an inspired 400m (56.51, 6th) all within 30 minutes of each other. All for the TEAM.

For us not to score in this event with the speed that we have is frustrating. We have one month to lower these times before the SWSC Indoor Conference and Il Prep Top Times. Who's going to separate themselves from the pack?

The sky is the limit for Jon Young. The 6-7 280lb offensive tackle (19.1mph in the 10m Fly) threw 43-8/145-8 last year. He's already throwing 45-5 this year. And he's still learning how to spin in the ring.

We were disappointed with our Varsity team finish. Overall we had an average day on the track and in the jumps. We are excited to have Coach Gonnella and Coach Marren back with us next week now that their basketball seasons have concluded. We are also very excited to welcome 10+ basketball players (lots of freshmen!) soon. FS HJ school record holder, Austin Kulig (6-3), will be on his way back soon as well. 14 weeks remaining in the season!
