Incoming freshmen who wish to receive lunch 

benefits MUST submit an application for processing 

at the beginning of the school year.

Final deadline for all currently enrolled students to submit an application is

November 15, 2024

District 219 offers healthy meals every school day. Universal Breakfast is served daily to all students free of charge. Your child(ren) may qualify for free or reduced price meals. Reduced price breakfast is 30¢ and lunch is 40¢. A free breakfast option is offered daily to all students. Applications can be submitted online starting July 1, 2024.  Please remember that each household must submit a new Free and Reduced Price Meal Application each school year. 

If your student receives free or reduced lunch and takes something that is not a Viking Meal, they will be charged the FULL AMOUNT. Additionally, if only a portion of the Viking Meal is chosen, then the student will be charged in full for the selected portion. The entire Viking Meal must to be chosen to receive the discounted pricing.

Students receiving Free or Reduced Lunch will use their ID number to “pay” for their lunch at the cash registers except no money will be deducted for the Viking Meal.  The process is discreet and none of their peers will know that the student is on free lunch. 

Students who were eligible for free or reduced priced meals at the end of last school year (2023-2024) will continue to receive free or reduced meals only through September 30th, 2024. Parent/Guardian must reapply and be approved for this benefit for the 2024-2025 school year. Those who have not been approved by September 30th, 2024 will pay full meal prices.
