Instructional coaching may be available per the "Additional Handbook Information Regarding Evaluations" section in the D219 District Evaluation Handbook, under Peer Assistance and Review (PAR), section B
"Tenured Teacher Evaluation. Tenured teachers may be referred to the PAR process and assigned to a Consulting Teacher (CT). Once a tenured teacher has been assigned to a CT, that Consulting Teacher shall make regular reports to the PAR Panel on that teacher's progress. Participation in PAR pursuant to this Section requires the occurrence of one or more of the following:
The tenured teacher's self-referral;
In the event that the tenured teacher receives an overall rating of Needs Improvement on a summative evaluation, this condition satisfying the requirements of a Professional Development Plan per Public Act 96-0861;
In the event that the tenured teacher has been found, through sufficient due process, to have violated either Board policy, the School Code or other applicable rules or regulations, and the Superintendent or designee and UNION President or designee mutually determine that such referral would serve as an effective remedy."
If you are a tenured teacher who is interested in instructional coaching supports, contact your department representative(s), building representative, and/or Executive Board member for more information about how to self-refer.
