Walk to End Alzheimer's

The annual Walk to End Alzheimer's event is taking place at Busse Woods in Elk Grove Village on September 15, 2024. We are looking for volunteers in the area to help join us in the fight to end Alzheimer's. We have multiple opportunities from leading up to the event to day of event support.  Attached is the volunteer flyer with more information. This could be a great and fun way to earn service hours! Camp SOAR Counselor

July 7-12th and/or July 14-19th.

A signature program of Children's Research Triangle is Camp SOAR (Special Outdoor Adaptive Recreation), an overnight camp for children with developmental disabilities, ages 7-19. The mission of camp is to provide an inclusive and fun overnight camp experience for children who otherwise would not have opportunities. Additionally, Camp SOAR provides new and fulfilling experiences for the counselors, and respite for the families.

Campers are partnered with a one-to-one dedicated volunteer counselor who assists them in making the most of their Camp SOAR experience. Parents know their child is having a wonderful time, making new friends and gaining independence, while in a safe and caring environment.

For more information about Camp SOAR, to donate, or to volunteer, please contact Sari Rieger at (312) 726-4011 or srieger@cr-triangle.org. Posted 5/21/24.
