Job Title: Kid Squad Leader
Department: Recreation
Location: 1500 E. Euclid, Mount Prospect, IL 60056
Reports To: Kid Squad Site Supervisor
Status: Part-time, Non-exempt
$15.00 - $15.50 Hourly
Essential Functions
The Leader is responsible for the direct supervision/participation of the children and creating new and innovative games for them to play. The Leader will assist the Site Supervisor during the program when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the park district’s policies and operations and enforce them in a positive manner
Develop and maintains positive working relationships with community organizations and residents
Work directly with children in group activities and one-on-one activities. The primary function is to supervise the children and keep them engaged in activities
Assist with the daily activities, setting up, and cleaning up.
Assist with safety checks of the facilities.
Attend and participate in staff and training meetings
Inform the Site Supervisor of any concerns or problems with the children on the site.
Perform other duties and functions as assigned
Document and submit all accident/incident reports
Risk Management
Actively supports and enforces the safety program instituted by the Park District
Maintain a working knowledge of all general agency and department-specific safety rules
Attend required safety program and in-service education meetings as directed
Correct unsafe conditions and/or reports them to your direct supervisor
Enforce safety disciplinary policies and procedures
Use protective gloves, masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to pathogens
Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the safety program of the River Trails Park District.
Required Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years old
Recommended Qualifications:
Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 3 months of employment
Experience in working with children ages 5-11.
Be willing to work with the public when necessary.

The Youth Athletic Official is responsible for the general control of youth athletic games.
Duties and Responsibilities

Create a good learning environment by encouraging and helping each participant develop to his or her full potential
Distribute program information to desired parties
Implement and enforce game and safety rules
Usage of proper sport signals and techniques when officiating games
Assist with the set-up and take down equipment
Report broken equipment/supplies to supervisor
Perform other duties and functions as assigned

About the Position

meaningful impact in the community? The Village of Arlington Heights Public Works & Engineering
Department is seeking nine summer Public Works Maintenance Interns to join our team. Through this paid
internship, you’ll gain real-world experience while contributing to the essential services that keep the
Village running smoothly.
Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, enrolled in a higher education or technical program,
and hold a valid Illinois driver’s license. Recent graduates (within the past six months) may be considered
if the seasonal position aligns with their field of study and career development goals. This role requires the
ability to work outdoors, lift up to 50 pounds, and safely operate motor vehicles and power tools. Interns
will work full-time from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for approximately twelve weeks.
The hourly wage for this position begins at $18.00/hour, depending on experience.
