The Commencement of Elk Grove High School will be held Sunday, May 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the NOW Arena, 5333 Prairie Stone Parkway Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60192. See MAP of NOW Arena.
Graduates should report to Door 11 of the NOW Arena at 8:45 AM for the commencement ceremony. Graduates should leave all valuables at home.
All graduates and spectators will pass through metal detectors. Graduates should have their gowns unzipped during the security screening. All guests entering the Arena will go through both a security screening and a bag check.
Guests will enter at the Main Entrance Door 1, doors open one hour prior to ceremony.
The ceremony will last approximately 90 minutes.
All students will receive a gown, cap, stole, and tassel. Fee and size information was collected during the school registration process.
Graduates may keep their gown, cap, stole, cords, and tassel.
Diplomas are received during the ceremony.
There is plenty of parking available at the NOW Arena. Attendants will be on duty to assist with parking. Handicapped parking will be located near the main entrance (Door 1). Only vehicles with an official handicapped tag will be permitted to park in this area.
There are multiple seating areas for handicapped individuals. A staff member will assist with seating. There is only enough room for one family member to sit with the handicapped individual in the designated handicapped areas.
No balloons are allowed in the arena during the ceremony. Please keep them in your car for after the ceremony.
Visual Image Photography (VIP) has been contracted to take three pictures of every graduate as they receive their diploma. View and order your Graduation Photography provided by VIP. Prints will be available approximately 10 days after the ceremony. https://www.vipis.com/. Guests may not leave their seats to take photographs. Please do not stand, as this may block the view of other spectators. Last Day Of School
The last day for seniors is Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
All cap & gowns were ordered in August, so there is no need to do anything else at this time.
Caps and gowns will be distributed in the foyer conference room from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12 and Wednesday May 13.
Each family will be issued nine graduation tickets for the ceremony. If you need more tickets, please contact julie.carlucci@d214.org in the Main Office.
Every graduate will receive a school gown (green), stole (gold), cap, and tassel (green/gold).
Qualifying students will receive an additional standardized D214 Academic Honor Cord determined by 7th semester weighted GPA.
Honors: White Cord Weighted GPA 3.0-3.79
High Honors: Gold Cord Weighted GPA 3.8-4.19
Highest Honors: Red Cord Weighted GPA 4.2 +
Adornments - School-approved academic medallions will be permitted.
Personalization - Students may wear appropriate cultural and religious symbols.
Cap Decoration - Decorated graduation caps are permitted for the ceremony, provided the designs are appropriate and respectful.
Rehearsal will take place Friday, May 22 immediately following the Honors Assembly at EGHS from 10:20 AM - 12:20 PM.
All students are required to attend the rehearsal, please meet in the Main Gym. Seating information will be emailed to students before rehearsal.
Students and parents should check Infinite Campus for any outstanding fees owed to the school. Go to Infinite Campus Portal . Login - as a Campus Parent or Student. From there Click - Fees from the main menu and then select the year and unpaid from the two dropdown menus). Seniors with outstanding obligations must pay any fines and/or turn in any books or equipment.
Graduation tickets may be withheld if student obligations are unpaid.
Transcript Requests Deadline - Final Transcripts available in June.
In order for any college/university, military, trade, employer to confirm graduation from High School they will require a final transcript. For Elk Grove HS to send your transcripts, we need a shipping address/email and consent. ALL requests must be sent through students’ SchooLinks account. For instructions please visit this LINK.
In addition to High School transcripts, many Elk Grove seniors have earned college credits through our Dual Credit program. In order for your future college/university to issue you any college credit you MUST request your COLLEGE transcripts from our partner college, e.g. Eastern Illinois, Harper, or NLU.
