• All colleges that require test scores accept either the SAT or ACT equally.

• There are some colleges that allow students to self-report their test scores. This means you will enter your scores on their application without having to pay to send from ACT or College Board. • If official test scores are required, scores should be requested by logging into your SATor ACT account at least three weeks before the college's application deadline:

Test Optional : There are over 1,400 colleges that do not require you to send your ACT or SAT scores for admission consideration. CLICK HERE to access a list of colleges that are test optional.

Test Blind: SAT and ACT are not used for admission.

How to decide if you should submit scores:

• If your school or major requires them

• If the school requires them for merit scholarships (you can ask financial aid or admissions)

• Your scores are within or above that college’s mid-50% range

• Your test score is much higher than your GPA

Many colleges will grant you credit or placement depending on the score you received on your AP exam. CLICK HERE to access a website where you can find each college's AP credit policies.

Some colleges may allow you to self-report your AP scores on your college applications to be considered during the admission process. You don't need to send the official AP scores until the end of senior year to the college you plan to attend.
