The cost of your cap, gown and tassel is $40 and is ordered through My School Bucks account. Please check your MySchoolBucks account ONLINE not the app for your full purchase history to avoid ordering doubles.
Everything will be distributed to seniors during cap and gown pick up on May 12th during School.
All obligations to the school must be cleared before we issue the cap/gown and tickets. This includes any outstanding fees, iPad payments, detentions, uniforms for athletics or activities, and summer school signup for July/August graduates. All fees are posted in the MySchoolBucks App.
We suggest taking your gown out of the packaging when home and hanging it up or steaming it to remove creases prior to graduation day.
Each graduating senior will receive 8 tickets to NOW arena. Seating at NOW arena is first come first serve and saving seats is not permitted. You should plan on arriving with who you plan to sit with. Please check the event guide below provided by NOW arena with more details.
Graduation Ordering FAQs:
If you have more than one senior graduating you must complete the cap & gown ordering process for each child.
The cap, gown and tassel unit is the only item you must order to participate in the graduation ceremony.
The fee on the Jostens ordering site shows $0 because you must pay for the cap & gown through your My School Bucks account at Palatine High School.
If your family qualifies for free/reduced lunch, only your student’s cap & gown fees will be waived. Any additional Jostens purchases will not be waived and must be paid for by your family!

Students who have met their senior requirements may be exempt from their final exams this semester. Students should check in with each of their teachers specifically if they are unsure.
Seniors who are required to take a final exam(s), must attend school during finals week May 20th-22nd

8:00 AM in the main gym at PHS. Practice is essential in order to understand the progression of the ceremony before your arrival at NOW Arena. Allow at least 2.5 hours for practice. Attendance is mandatory! After, some of the local elementary schools invite you to stop by as an alumni!

1. iPad Return OR Purchase Options
I am RETURNING my iPad
On May 12th bring:
Your iPad
Your charging cable
Your charging block
Before entering the drop-off line:
Set your lock screen code to 1234
Remove your iPad from its case
Have your device and accessories ready to hand in
Staff will collect and verify your device and accessories before you continue to pick up your cap and gown.
OR I am PURCHASING my iPad
If you purchased your iPad the week before May 12:
No receipt is needed.
Staff will verify your purchase on-site.
If you purchased your iPad on May 12:
Bring a copy of your purchase receipt.
(Printed or digital is fine. This confirms your payment while our system updates.)
Without a receipt, we may not be able to verify your purchase immediately.
2. What Happens After You Purchase Your iPad?
Your iPad will be released from school management after graduation is completed (not before).
After that, On May 27th following finals, the iPad will be sent a command to wipe the iPad clean. Students will have to set up their iPad with a PERSONAL account once this is done.
Do not attempt to reset your iPad before graduation.
You will lose access to graduation information, apps, and services you may still need.

Your District 211 Google account will be disabled on September 1st so be sure to complete this before that date!
