The Walker iLab is a based on an innovator's and creator's mindset. Additionally, in line with the school's "Choose Kind" theme, the theme for the iLab is "Build a Better World," encouraging students to utilize empathy based considerations and incorporate SEL concepts whenever possible.
The iLab includes a variety of programs and tools that allow students to explore the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) with engaging projects. Although the iLab is centered in the learning lab, it has mobile components that allow students and teachers to work on STEAM concepts across the school grounds. STEAM can and should happen everywhere!
During the school day, teachers incorporate STEAM projects and concepts into different areas of the curriculum. Students will also have extracurricular opportunities to build their expertise, tinker and create in a variety of settings.
