S.T.A.R.
S.T.A.R. is an extended-day program designed to provide additional support in the areas of Language Arts, Math, or Technology. In each session, students will work to reinforce basic skills as well as complete enrichment activities aimed at supplementing the curriculum. It is our intent that the STAR program will retain a student – teacher ratio that does not exceed 20 students to 1 teacher. This will ensure each child receives the individual support and attention that is required to achieve academic success.
Although no grade or homework will be given in this program, student performance will be regularly assessed and shared with teachers and parents. In addition, regular attendance is required throughout the school year in order to maintain eligibility in the program.
The STAR program will be offered at each grade level, flexibly throughout the week. Please see the individual schedules below for specific days and times. Transportation to school will be provided to all students who are recommended for this program via the School District 123 Activity Bus.
