The rapid increase in cultural diversity is not only evident in our society at large but also within Wauconda Community Unit School District 118, especially of Latino origin. We as a school community recognize and value the important cultural contributions this will have in every aspect of our global society. Our dedication to work, family cohesion and the desire to excel in life are values that characterize our community that believes and values educational
Mission:
To be an organization that represents the interests and needs of the bilingual community in Wauconda Community Unit School District 118 through active participation in the educational process of our students and decision making that will have an impact in the education our children receive.
Objectives ∙
Establish a clear and collaborative voice between the bilingual community of the ELL Program and Wauconda Community Unit School District 118.
Promote respectful and assertive parental participation in the design and revision of the educational programs for our children.
Promote parent training so they can support their children with school work.
Collaborate with School Parent Organizations: PTOs and WHS Boosters.
Hold English Language Learner Program parent conferences and workshops, community conferences, and promote cultural events.
