What does MTSS look like at King?
-We begin by using assessments as screeners to indicate students' needs for additional supports to intervene or enrich learning. These screeners include DIBELS 8 and the Universal Screener for Number Sense; we also use other data points such as the district benchmarks.
-We have two designated times built into our building-wide schedule for WIN Time (What I Need) for literacy/ ELA and math. During these daily blocks of time, students receive specific & targeted instruction aligned to each students' identified needs and strengths. We set goals for each group and monitor progress towards goals every 3-4 weeks.
-Our SST (Student Supports Team) also monitors student progress and the effectiveness of interventions for reading, math, and behavioral supports.
-Some students have the supports and progress towards goals documented in READ, MTSS, or ALP plans.
