Undergraduate students are invited to submit abstracts for a digital poster presentation at the 19th annual Twin Ports Undergraduate Psychology Conference to be held Monday, April 19, 2021. Submissions on topics from all areas of psychology are welcome. Registration for the conference is free. Submissions must be received no later than Friday, March 26, 2021.
You will be asked to include the following information with your submissions:
Title of the research, author(s), faculty sponsor(s), and institutional affiliation(s).
Email address of the main author or presenter.
A 200-250 word abstract of the research. The abstract is a condensed version of the full report. In a maximum of 250 words, the abstract should introduce the problem/topic, name the variables, briefly present the method (participants, materials/apparatus, procedures), describe the main results, and discuss the implications of the results. See the APA Publication Manual 7th edition for details.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Projects do NOT need to be completed at the time of submission, but they should be completed prior to the conference.
Please review the general formatting guidelines for virtual posters, and consult your faculty mentor for guidelines on preparing effective posters. You should create a traditional large-format poster that will be presented virtually using the share screen feature in the virtual conference platform. The TPUP 2020 website is still up if you want to take a look at last year's posters and abstracts.
On the day of the conference, you will join your assigned, virtual table. Each virtual table is set up as its own meeting space in the conference platform. You will be able to share your screen to display your poster digitally while interacting and discussing your research with conference attendees who visit your virtual table.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE
We must receive your submission no later than March 26, 2021. Please submit your abstract via the online form below.
Receipt of your submission will be acknowledged within 2-3 business days. If you have any problems with the online submission process or have additional questions, please contact UMD conference coordinator, Dr. Julie Slowiak, by email at jslowiak@d.umn.edu.
ACCEPTED POSTER SUBMISSION
