Graduate students are being accepted for Fall 2026. Find out how to apply here!
Prospective graduate students applying to UMD's Master of Arts in Psychological Science (MAPS) program and interested in the Social and Political Psychology Lab should indicate their desire to work with Dr. Blanchar in their application materials. Instructions for applying can be found on the UMD Psychology Department's MAPS webpage. Applicants are encouraged to contact Dr. Blanchar with questions (jblancha@d.umn.edu).
Graduate mentees are heavily involved in lab research projects, conduct their own research, present findings at conferences, and earn authorship on empirical papers. They also undergo training in data science using R/RStudio and receive guidance in open science practices. Graduate students will be strongly positioned to apply to Ph.D. programs or pursue jobs in private industry fields.
Dr. Blanchar's lab recently acquired an eye tracker. There will be opportunities for students to learn about and use this new research equipment.
