Senior Design Project requirement can be met by taking one of the following two course options.
Option 1: EE 4899 - Senior Design Project I (1 credit) and EE 4999 - Senior Design Project II (3 credit), two semesters
These two sequence courses are one of the paths that the Department recommends for students to satisfy their Senior Project requirement.
To register, form a project team with a minimum of two EE students; create a project idea; get a faculty advisor for supervising the project; obtain your faculty advisor's permission to proceed; get a registration permission number from the Department office; and register.
Once you register for EE 4899, your SP course starts and your faculty adviser will guide you and your team for two semesters until the project is successfully completed.
Option 2: EE 4951 - Design Workshop (4 credits), one semester
This course is offered as a fast-track course for students who were not able to plan and execute the regular EE 4899 and EE 4999 sequence courses (Option 1)
This course must be completed in one semester.
The amount of work involved will be felt larger than Option 1 because the project must be completed within a single semester, including write up of the final project report and an oral presentation.
Please check the course offerings from the Department to ensure that it is actually offered.
To register for this course, obtain a permission from the instructor offering this course and then get a registration permission number from the EE Office.
Both options require an oral presentation and a final project report.
